WOW!
What an awesome service today! It was great to see so new faces at Destiny today. Our church is a VERY special place. I love it! I couldn't imagine doing life with any other group of people. Today there were 5 people that accepted Christ!!!!! You guys are doing an amazing job of inviting your friends and family to church. We started our series "In God we Trust?" today and it was great. Thanks to the Women's Medical Research Center for allowing us to partner with them in helping minister to families in Vegas! Every single baby bottle was gone after service!!! I told Carlye that we will need MORE bottles for next week. I am so proud of our church. I can't wait to hear about the random acts of kindness that we will be performing this week. I will be blogging this week about mine and Tracy's RAOK moments. Make sure that you leave a comment here and share with our community how God used you to be "generous" in the lives of others this week. Remember, It's all His. He's entrusted some to me. What He's entrusted to me, I am to use for Him! Let's live life WIDE OPEN this week and change our world for Jesus!!!!

Hey Pastor T,
On Monday, April 28th I was able to give a ROAK card to a gentleman that was at a stop light asking for help. I told him my name and that I was with The Destiny Church of Las Vegas. I gave him some money and a ROAK card. ;)
God Bless,
Teo

Got another one!
I be "ROAK"-in!!!
On Tuesday, April 29th I headed to Wendy's for lunch (after hittin' the gym real hard, of course). ;) I came up apon three Vally H.S. students pooling their money and trying to figure out the best meal to get for the 3 of them to share. I turned to them and said,"Are you a little short on money for lunch today?" One of them replied, "ya, a little." I went on to tell them my name and that I was with Destiny Church of Las Vegas. In addition, I explained that it was Random Act of Kindness week. They appeared a bit puzzled, so I explained that they could save their money because I would be buying them all lunch. I then handed them a ROAK card. Another one replied, "You don't have to do that." I told her that it was a matter of "have to," it was a matter of "want to." ;) I asked their names, which were Maureen, Akaime' & Lauren. I told them that I played drums for our Worship Team. They were taken aback & extremely appreciative for my act of kindness. Maureen told me that her family goes to Central Christian and we talked about her church for a bit. When it came time to order they were still only going to order one meal and share it (which I thought was very nice of them), however, I clarified that they all 3 could order their own meals. The look on their faces was worth more than any meal I could have purchased for them. :):):) After I let them order, I had the lady bag my meal and wished the girls a blessed day. As I left I could hear them discussing, with the lady behind the counter, my nice gesture and that I was a member of Destiny Church. I do believe these young ladies will remember this for a long time to come...
Keep on ROCKING!!! ;0

t- thanks for the compliment! You are a very vital part of this family even though you are far away. i am thanking Jesus for technology!
Hi_Jean-thanks for checking out the blog. I am excited that some RAOK is spreading to the south land! Oh' lets keep that war ***** stuff to minimum. Roll Tide.
The other day a girl came into to work and said that she was having surgery. I knew that she didn't have any family here. It was day surgery so I knew she would be home. So tonight I brought dinner to her house and she almost cried. She said she would be out of commission for the next three days so this mean alot. Tomorrow night I'll be going back by just to make sure she's okay.
I've been trying to get one of my friends to come to church for a long time. So today we were talking about exercising. I had my ipod and we talked about how we loved our ipods. She then said she had lost hers awhile back. So I gave her my ipod and a RAOK card. She will come to church with me in two weeks!! Woo Hoo! I wasn't sure if this fit in the random category but it was kind. So there you go!
Kari-you are never more like Jesus than when you are giving! way to get your RAOK on!!!!!
Ok, was a little discouraged after being turned down to 2 "RAOK" moments. I asked a man, trying to help his son but fighting with his do on a leash, if I could help his son or hold his dog. After that crazy look and backing up a few steps he said NO thanks! I moved on...
Today I went to Starbucks! I asked 2 ladies if I could buy what they were purchasing. One made the comment, "No one has ever asked to do this before I don't know what to say." After I explained what I was doing through our study on generosity she was very touched. She said that she wanted to pay for her own so I could save my money for someone else that lived in our neighborhood. She felt someone else may NEED it more than her. She was very nice and returned a RAOK to me!
I finally hit the jack-pot! I was able to buy coffee for a lady that works at the school that we are meeting in. She said that she has seen our people setting up on Fridays and has seen advertisements across the city. When I left the coffee shop she made a point to tell me to be looking for her at the school so we could talk again.
It feels great helping others. Even if your turned down you asked!
